There’s a reason the Gizeh was named after an Egyptian city. It’s because thong sandals have a long history. The roots of this type of footwear date back to Egypt in the year 1400 BC. It's form has clearly proven itself for thousands of years. Birkenstock revived and reinterpreted this extremely comfortable and functional sandal at the beginning of the 1980s. The Gizeh can be worn at nearly every event imaginable, both inside and out. Simple, feminine, and elegant or relaxed and cool-the epitome of versatility.

Fit Guidelines: *Regular widthfits half a size larger thannarroweuropean size Birkenstock footwear is designed and sized to provide a roomy fit allowing your toes and feet to wiggle and be free. This sometimes takes a bit of getting used to. Also, most Birkenstock styles come in two widths: narrow and regular, so you can really find the best possible fit for your feet. For the most natural fit, your feet should rest comfortably inside the footbed and there should be about 1/8" to 1/4” between your toes and the end of the footbed.
Heat Warning-Cork footbeds or EVA soles can be damaged by exposure to concentrated heat. Do not leave your footwear in direct sunlight or in closed cars on warm days. If your footwear becomes wet, allow it to air dry slowly, away from direct heat.
